Trauma Focused Therapy

mindful-logo%20trans_edited.png

Trauma Focused Therapy is another form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that can address the specific emotional and mental health needs of all individuals to include, children, adolescents, and adults. Usually, these individuals are struggling to overcome the destructive effects of early trauma. Any individual who has experienced a single or repeated episode of abuse or neglect or who has developed post-traumatic symptoms, depression, or anxiety as a result can benefit from Trauma Focused Therapy. Of note, there is little evidence to show that Trauma Focused CBT is the best intervention for Veterans with complex PTSD.

Trauma Focused Therapy may be helpful in a variety of circumstances, such as:

  • Mood Disorders

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Trauma as a result of abuse/neglect, violence, or grief
